Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-external oblique muscle of abdomen-external intercostal mudcke.
 In the superficial layer, there are the lateral cutaneous branches of the 6rd to 8th intercostal nerves and the accompanying arteries and veins. In the deep layer, there are the 7th intercostal nerve and the 7th posterior intercostal artery and vein.

Location:
Sit upright or lie supinely; on the midclavicular line in the 7th intercostal space.
Function:
Normalizing the functions of the gallbladder, depressing upward-reverse flow of qi, and regulating the function of the stomach and intestine.

Indications:
Pain in the hypochondriac region, vomiting, acid regurgitation, hiccup, jaundice, and mastitis.

Prescription:
Combined use with TaichongLR3 (Taichong (LR 3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point) for treatment of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis; and with FutuLI18 (Futu (LI 18)) for treatment of phrenospasm.

Methods:
Insert the needle subcutaneously to 0.5-0.8 cun depth; needling response: local numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
Note:
Don`t puncture deeply, or else the needle would penetrate the external intercostal muscle-the internal intercostal muscle-the costal pleura-the costodiaphragmatic recess-the diaphragmatic pleura-the diaphragm-the parietal peritoneum-the peritoneal cavity-the visceral peritoneum and the right lobe of liver ( on the right side ) or the fundus of stomach ( on the left side ) by its tip, and injure the liver and the gastric wall.
