Acupuncture Point Weidao (GB28)
Location:
Lie on one`s side; 0.5 cun anteroinferior to WushuGB27(Wushu (GB27)), opposite to the groin.
Function:
Regulating the functions of the Chong and CVmeridians, normalizing the functions of lower jiao.
Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-external oblique muscle of abdomen-external internal oblique mudcke of abdomen-transverae muscle of abdomen-ilipsoas muscle.
In the superficial layer, there are the superficial circumdlex iliac artery and vein, the lateral cutaneous branches of the anterior branches of the 11th and 12th thoracic and 1st lumbar nerves abd tge accompanying arteries and veins. I n the deep layer, there are the deep circumflex oloac artery and vein, the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh,
Indications:
Leukorrhagia, lower abdominal pain, hernia, and prolapse of uterus.
Prescription:
Combined use with ZhongjiCV3 (Acupuncture Single Point Zhongji (CV3) Front-Mu Point of the Bladder) for treatment of prolapse of uterus; and with YinlingquanSP9 (Yinlingquan (SP9) He-Sea Point) for treatment of orchitis.
Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 0.5-1.5 cun depth; needling response: local sensation of numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 minn..
