Points: Zhikexue, located 0.5 cun above Yuji (LU10), Feirexue,  located 0.5 cun lateral to T3 and T4, Huxidian, located l/3 inferior to  the posterior border of stemocleidomastoid muscle, Kongzui (LU6).

 

Technique: Puncture the acupoints in the routine method, and then select the points for electric stimulation for chronic bronchitis  based on clinical symptoms and constitution For a simple cough, the  positive electrode is on Zhikexue and the negative on Feirexue, for  profuse sputum and a good constitution, the positive is on Kongzui  (LU6) and the negative on Huxidian. The frequency is based on   dense-sparse wave and the electric intensity is increased from weak to moderate. The treatment is given once daily and lasts 10 to 20 minutes each time. Six days make up one course. The second course is given if the case is not cured. The effective rate of treating chronic bronchitis is relatively high. Generally, with electric stimulation, the patient feels relief from chest tightness and breathes smoothly.
