Point: Tiantu (Ten 22)

Technique: Puncture the point toward the cervical vertebrae 0.5 to 0.8 cun deep with a one-cun needle to make the fingers feel electric numbness. Lift and thrust the needle a few times, then withdraw it. Puncturing this point can directly inhibit excitation of the diaphragm  nerve so as to reduce the adverse flow of qi and relieve the spasm.
