Acupuncture Point Baihui (GV20)
Location:
1. Upright sitting, 1 cun anterior to the midpoint of the line connecting the anterior and posterior hairlines. 2. At the meeting point of the median line of the head and the line connecting two apex auriculae.
Function:
Promoting resuscitation and restoring yang from collapse.
Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-epicranial aponeurosis-subaponeurotic loose tissue.
There are the branches of the greater occipital and frontal nerves, and the anastomotic network of the left and right superficial temporal arteries and veins with the left and right occipital arteries and veins in this area.
Indications:
Headache, Vertigo, Tinnitus, nasal obstruction, aphasia by apoplexy, coma, mental disorders, and prolapse of the rectum and the uterus.
Prescription:
Combined use with Changqiang (GV 1) Luo-Connecting Point) for treatment of proctoptosis; with Acupuncture Single Point Weidao for treatment of hysteroptosis; with Tinghui (GB 2) for treatment of tinnitus; with JiuweiCV15 (Jiuwei (CV15) Luo-Connecting Point) for treatment of dysentery; with Acupuncture Single Point Shuigou, Shixuan (EX- UE 11), Zusanli (ST 36) He-Sea Point) for treatment of syncope; with Geshu (BL17), Weishu (BL21), Shenshu (BL23), Acupuncture Single Point Mingmen, Acupuncture Single Point Yaoyangguan, Guanyuanshu (BL 26) Front-Mu Point of the SmallIntestine), and Acupuncture Single Point Zhongji Front-Mu Point of the Bladder) for treatment of impotence.
