1) Diet
Diet is the cause and cure of type 2 diabetes. It is by far the best natural home remedy for Diabetes and by far the best treatment above and beyond the drugs of allopathic medicine. By following a strict starch based diet low in fat, type 2 diabetes can be cured in a very large majority of cases. Fat inhibits the action of insulin in the body. This is compounded when there is low fiber in the diet which allows glucose to pass quickly from the gut into the bloodstream. This depressed action of insulin (due to fat) plus fast passage of sugar (glucose) into the blood makes the blood sugar level go up, up, up. Americans get 47% of their calories from fat! We eat an unbelievable amount of fat. It should be no more than 10%. The human body did not evolve having to process that much fat and so diabetes is the result.
Holy basil
Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes are rare in parts of the world that eat a low fat, starch based diet (starch comes from grains, legumes such as beans and potatoes and these are supplemented with vegetables and fruits). In this diet all animal products such as meat, fish, dairy and eggs are strictly eliminated. Eat all the carbs you want.
For those suffering with type 2 diabetes (adult diabetes) a change in diet will allow 75 percent of these persons to stop all insulin and more than 95 percent to stop all oral anti-diabetic pills. The small number who will continue to require medication can be treated with small doses of insulin.
2) Avoid Dairy
Cow’s milk and all milk products are the cause of childhood or type 1 diabetes. Milk causes an auto-immune response in the body which acts to direct antibodies to the child’s pancreas. The immune system then attacks the cells of the pancreas destroying it. Unable to produce insulin, type 1 diabetes is the result. Once the cells of the pancreas have been destroyed, they will not grow back. However, those who have this condition will benefit greatly by adopting a low fat starch based diet. In the countries in Africa and Asia which still eat a starch based diet, it is uncommon for the few there who get diabetes to have lingering complications such as heart disease, blindness, strokes and gangrene (requiring amputations). Whereas these complications are common among type 1 diabetics who eat the rich western high fat diet. Avoiding dairy is one of the best alternative treatments and natural remedies for diabetes.
3) Tulsi Tea

4) Complex Carbohydrates
Counting carbohydrate calories is not the answer to diabetes. Recent studies show that eating complex carbohydrates and avoiding refined carbs like sugar and white flour are most important.
