This disease is mainly marked by kidney-yin deficiency. The syndrome should be differentiated in the light of the color and texture of intermenstrual bleeding as well as the conditions of the tongue and pulse. The syndrome of yin deficiency and fire exuberance is marked by earlier, scanty and reddish bleeding without clot. The syndrome of damp-heat is usually mixed up with multi-colored leuckorrhage.
