Causes of Leukorrhagia in TCM
According to the clinical manifestations, leukorrhagia pertains to the conception of leukorrhea disease in TCM, the cause of which is various. TCM believes that leukorthagia is mainly due to dampness, but it is also related to the disorder of the belt vessel. Dampness either exogenous or endogenous is due to dysfunction of the viscera.
Leukorrhagia
is caused either by dysfunction of the spleen in transformation and transportation that accumulate cereal nutrients into dampness, the downward migration of which affects the belt vessel; or by loss of essential fluid due to dysfunction of the kidney in storage and in dredging the thoroughfare and conception vessels; or by disorder of the conception and belt vessels due to stagnation of liver qi affecting the transformation of the spleen; or by invasion of exogenous dampness and virulent and turbid pathogenic factors into the conception and belt vessels due to asthenia of the uterine vessels or water contamination in bathing or prolonged living in damp area. Prolonged leukorrhea will certainly consume body fluid, the manifestation of which is a mixture of asthenia and sthenia.
