(2) The main clinical manifestations in acute prostate are frequent, urgent and burning pain in urination, distending pain and discomfort in the perineum, simultaneously accompanied by chills, fever, hematuria, purulent secretion in the meatus urinarius, interrupted urination, descending sensation in the anus, tenesmus, lassitude, etc. The main clinical manifestations in chronic prostatitis are frequent and urgent urination, dribbling urination, insidious pain and discomfort in the lower abdomen, perineum and lumbosacral region, and urethral dribbling of white substance, simultaneously accompanied by burning and itching sensation in the urethra, insomnia, dream-disturbed sleep, painful ejaculation, impotence, premature ejaculation, seminal emission, and sterility.
(3) In the rectal touch, full and swollen prostate can be palpated with soft nature and obvious tenderness in acute prostatitis. Fluctuation sensation can be palpated in formation of abscess. In the rectal touch in chronic prostariffs, prostate is in slight tenderness, tough nature and uneven surface, and sometimes slight hypertrophy. If the duration is longer and complicated with fibrosis, the size of the prostate can be shrunk and hard, with palpable nodes on the surface.
(4) In the routine examinations of urine in acute prostatitis, there can be excessive leukocyte and erythrocyte. In culture of the middle portion of urine, there is growth of the pathogenic bacteria. In routine examination of blood, the total count of leukocyte and neutrophil count can be enhanced obviously. Clinically, massage on the prostate is usually not adopted. In chronic prostatitis, besides slight leukocyte found in the routine examination of urine, routine blood examinations and culture of middle portion of urine can be normal completely. In the routine examination of the prostatic fluid, excessive pyocyte can be seen or lecithin corpuscle can be decreased obviously
