Key points for diagnosis
1. Clinical Manifestations
There abruptly occurs the symptoms of blurred vision, micropsia and metamorphopsia with the sensation of shadow in the way of the central field of vision occasionally.

2. Fundus Examination
At the beginning, localized edema of the macula is found and then the macula becomes protrudent, forming serous disciform detachment of the retina with light-reflecting circle surrounded and the light reflex of the central fovea disappearing. Later yellowish and whitish petechial exudate occurs.  During the recovery stage, the edema gradually disappears and the reflex of the central fovea  recovers again.

3. Visual Field Examination
Campimetery finds the relatively central scotoma and the test of Amsler's chart indicates metamorphopsia and central scotoma.

4. Fluorescein Fundus Angiography
At the venous stage, there is one or a few small exudative spots at the posterior pole or far away, which gradually becomes the spurting or inkblot-like strong fluorescein spots at the late stage.
