Chinese Medicine Treatment for Infant Arrhythmia

Syndrome differentiation and treatment
Curing deficiency is the main therapeutic principle for the disease. Other therapeutic principles may be concurrently applied of activating blood circulation, resolving phlegm, removing toxin, etc.. The therapeutic methods include supplementing qi and nourishing blood, nourishing yin to remove fire, warming and tonifying heart yang, promoting qi flow to activate blood flow, clearing away heat and resolving phlegm, as well as calming the mind, etc.

1. Deficiency of qi and blood
Main symptoms and signs: Palpitation with restlessness worsened by moving, dizziness, listlessness, hypodynamia, lustreless complexion, profuse sweat, pale tongue with whitish fur, thready and slow pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Supplementing qi and nourishing blood and calming the mind.

2. Excessive fire due to yin deficiency   
Main symptoms and signs: Palpitation, dysphoria with restlessness, insomnia with dream-disturbed sleep, dizziness, night sweat, dry mouth with the desire for drinking, red tongue with a little fur, thready and rapid pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Nourishing yin to eliminate fire, nourishing the heart and tranquilzing the mind.

3. Deficiency of heart yang 
Main symptoms and signs: Palpitation with restlessness worsened by moving, chest distress, short breath, cold body and limbs, pale complexion, spontaneous sweat, profuse and thin urine, poor appetite, loose stools, pale tongue with whitish fur, deep and thready or knotted and intermittent pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Warming yang and supplementing qi, and tranquilizing the mind.

4. Obstruction of heart blood 
Main symptoms and signs: Palpitation, chest distress, paroxysmal stabbing precordial pain, cyanotic lips and nails, purple tongue or with ecchymosis, unsmooth or knotted and intermittent pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Promoting qi flow to activate blood circulation, and tranquilizing the mind.

5. Heart disturbance due to phlegm and fire  
Main symptoms and signs: Intermittent palpitation, frequent cry, susceptibility to fright, chest distress, dysphoria, expectoration of yellowish sputum, constipation, red tongue with yellowish and greasy fur, taut-slippery and rapid pulse. 
Therapeutic methods: Clearing away heat, resolving phlegm, and tranquilizing the mind.
