When we repeat a movement we create "stress" on the tendons and other ligaments, this in turn demands a constant repair to the ligaments. The body does this continuously all the time, this repair is done by minute inflammatory processes with which the body creates the right condition for tissue repair.
If the body is ever unable to repair the damaged tissue fast enough, and we keep on doing the same movements, we develop chronic inflammation, and over time the body loose its ability to repair and heal the tissue in that area. Acupuncture is one of the best treatment for conditions like these, and it has no side-effects.
From Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, the needles that are inserted to the Acupuncture points, opens the meridian to the free flaw of the Qi (Energy), and when the Qi is not blocked, the inflammation, and with it the pain, subside. In many repetitive motion injuries we use Chinese herbal remedies that strengthen the body and act as anti-inflammatory agents. Alternatively, I’ll use some of the many western herbal remedies or homeopathic remedies that have anti inflammatory effect.
