Diagnostic Essentials for Furuncle in Chinese medicine:
1.Tipped Furuncle
On the skin of the infected area, there is a local reddened tumefaction with burning sensation and pain, which has shallow base and a pus spot in the center. It heals after pus discharge.
2. Non-Tipped Furuncle
On the skin of the infected area, there is a local soft and shining reddened tumefaction with burning sensation and pain and without a tip. If the tumefaction is in a state of suppuration and ulceration, it can heal swiftly after it is incised.
3. Mole Cricket Furuncle
It mostly occurs on the head of children. There are usually two types clinically. One type is small in the size, but hard in tumefaction and difficult to diminish after suppuration breaks, and is easy to recur after it is healed. The other type is comparatively large in the size, in soft nature, and often with 3-5 tumefactions simultaneously. They are usually interconnected like the hole of mole cric.
4.Furunculosis
It usually occurs among young people, frequently seen on the posterior part of the nape, back and buttocks. The sores are small, ranging from several to tens. They may linger for months or years or frequently recur after cured, and they often linger for years, or can attack repeatedly after cured.
In TCM, a disease or a symptom might be caused by one pathogenic factor, even two or three pathogenic factors. When diagnosing a disease or a symptom, TCM doctors must follow the principle of "Syndrome Dfferentiation", and then "Suit the Remedy to the Case". In order to gain a more definite and valuable diagnosis, it's important and necessary for the doctor to learn the detailed health information of the patient, including his/her disease duration, age, sex, height, weight, family history, urine, stool, diet, sleep, sweat, energy, mood (emotion), as well as the tongue conditions and the palm conditions, etc. If you would want our expert to create a TCM diagnosis, you're welcome to contact us.
