Astragalus root, Radix Astragali (Huangqi) 120g
Honey, Mel 30g
Liquorice, Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancao) 6g
Chinese yam, Rhizoma Dioscoreae 10g
Fresh cogongrass root, Rhizoma Imperatae Recens 12g
PROCESS: First, decoct astragalus roots and cogongrass roots until the water has boiled more than ten times, remove the residue and get extract of about 500 ml; put in the powdered liquorice and Chinese yam (pounded into pieces) and decoct; stir it with a chopstick while decocting so as to prevent the two kinds of powder from settling down on the bottom of the pot. The soft extract will be ready as soon as the decoction has boiled once. Then, put in the honey and mix it well; stop decocting when it is just about to boil.
DIRECTIONS: Take it all in three doses.
