Can high levels of FSH be the cause of infertility?

Health Consultation Description: i had an ovarian cyst. i took norethisterone 5 for 2 weeks and it disappeared. The dr did an ultrasound and did not find it again. On the same day he told me to have a hormonal test. It was the 3rd day of my period. FSH is 31.4 amd LH 14. Also Anti-TPO Ab 217. I am shocked about FSH. I am 39 single and do want to have kids.

Does the FSH level of 31 mean i am infertile? have my ovaries stopped working?
Can i still get pregant naturally or with IVF? Can i do egg freezing? Can anything be done to lower FSH? Will DHEA work? Can the elevation be due to the cyst or the norethisterone i took? Could it be due to the fact that i had on going stress for months not eating or sleeping well with too much caffeine? Can it be just a one time thing and then FSH go back to normal and stay there? Please help!

Condition analysis:
This high FSH is suggestive of menopausal transition. In my opinion get a pelvic ultrasound for antral follicle count on day 2 of cycle and AMH levels tested which will tell us about your fertility potential.

In case they are very low then dheas can be tried for 3 months and we can see for result.

But most probably you will need IVF and that too with donor eggs (most probably)

Resorting to donor egg will help you to bear children and taking the semen of your would be husband will let the child have his genetic material at least.

All this is not related to norethisterone or cyst but definitely related to poor nutrition and stress.

Avoid excessive caffeine and smoking in case you do and take good healthy diet with good sleep. In case you have any other question I will be happy to help.
