Thanks for your query. Noted your history of being 64, quit smoking 3 years back, had CT scan of the abdomen for which clinical history has not been provided.
The report says there is mesenteric panniculitis and unless proved otherwise it is inflammatory as if the cancer would have been present other signs and symptoms would be present. CT scan would have shown other findings like mass, lymph nodes, ascites and others.
Hence stop worrying. Have proper medication and review after 7 days with your Doctor. IF the Doctor is terrifying you have a second opinion of another Doctor.

Sclerotic: This classification of panniculitis is not quite understood. The condition arises and is defined by the development of unsmooth skin surfaces (where lesions have developed) and pain on the area upon palpation. This type of classification is not considered serious compared to others.
