Condition analysis:
Phlebitis is the inflammation of a vein, usually in the legs. The inflammatory process may produce redness, warmth, pain and swelling along the vein. If it is accompanied by fever, there may be an infection. Has she had a dr check it? If it is a large area of redness an swelling, it may be cellulitis. She would need to see a dr.

Instructions:
Avoid Salt: Eating too much salt can inflame your veins even more and eating too much salt can also make it harder to control your blood pressure. Try to avoid processed foods, fast food, and junk food. These all usually have extra salt in them that you don’t need. Also, avoid adding extra salt to your food. It may not seem like a sprinkle of salt in your meal will make a difference, but a sprinkle three times a day, every just might.
