Chronic Rhinitis?
Expert ReplyCondition analysis:
Recurrent nasal blockage/discharge that doesn’t resolve on its own is called chronic rhinitis . It often results from irritation or inflammation in the nose. When it is caused by an allergic reaction, it is called allergic rhinitis; otherwise, it is called nonallergic rhinitis.
Allergic Rhinitis: The symptoms of allergic rhinitis – commonly called "hay fever" – include sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion and itching of the nose and throat. The nasal discharge from allergic rhinitis is usually clear and watery. If the discharge is white, green, yellow or bloody, a sinus infection may also be present.
You may also have symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis , such as itchy, red watery eyes. The substances that cause allergic rhinitis and/or conjunctivitis are called allergens .
The most common allergen is wind borne pollen produced by trees, grasses, and weeds. Other allergens include pet dander, house dust, indoor and outdoor molds, and some workplace irritants. Foods are not a common cause of allergic rhinitis in adults, but certain foods may cause nasal symptoms in some young children.

Herbal Remedies for Chronic Rhinitis
1. Herbal Tea Mix. Make a simple herbal tea with marigold, yarrow and greater celandine (1 tsp of each). Add 3 drops of propolis tincture into the tea and mix well until it’s diluted. Use a pipette to add the drops of this mixture in each nostril. The procedure will last for 5 minutes if done properly.
2. Elder Flower Remedy. If you have already had fever, the best thing you can do is to start the elder flower infusion. Take 1 teaspoon of elder flowers and moist them in two teaspoons of cold water and let them stay like that for 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes have passed, scald them into a cup of boiling water and let them infuse for another 5 minutes. Slip the infusion and drink 3 cups of elder flower infusion per day.
3. Eyebright Cure. Also, if you have experienced symptoms such as the clogging of the nose and headaches try these simple inhalations. Mix 20 g of eyebright and the same amount of lavender Take one teaspoon of this mix and drop it into a mug of cold water and place over fire in a pot. When the infusion starts steaming get the infusion off the fire and start the inhalations using a towel to cover you head with over the pan. Before doing this inhalation, anoint your nostrils with olive oil.
