How can women prevent urinary tract infections?

To prevent urinary tract infections:
Women should urinate directly after sexual intercourse.

Carefully wipe from front to back after urinating or having a bowel movement.

Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.

Drink cranberry juice or any citrus juice.

Use a form of contraception other than a diaphragm and/or spermicidal jelly.

Use vaginal estrogen cream in women past menopause

Young girls should avoid bubble baths, which does not cause infections but can irritate the urinary tract.

In rare cases, daily or recurrent antibiotics may be used for prevention. For example, women who consistently develop urinary tract infections after intercourse may be advised to take a single dose of antibiotics after sex. 

Instructions:
1. Eat Vitamin C Rich Fruits
Have fruits with a high content of Vitamin C, such as oranges, guavas, kiwi, melons, raspberries and tomatoes. Vitamin C helps to kill the bacteria present in the urinary tract.

2. Tea Tree Oil
Mix equal proportion of tea tree oil, sandalwood oil and juniper oil. Now, rub it over the abdominal area for 3-4 days. This is a proven home remedy to treat the Urinary Tract Infections.

Alternatively, mix 6 drops of tea tree oil and 2 teaspoons of plain yogurt in warm bath water. Soak in this water for about 8-10 minutes for 10 days.
