Suggestions on treatment for spreading bilateral joint pain Health Consultation Description: The joints in my body (fingers,wrists, elbows, shoulders, spine, hips, knees and ankles) have become increasingly painful and stiff. I am stiff until around 2pm every day, they do not appear to be extremely swollen red or hot. However the middle finger knulckes have increased in size significantly. I am no longer able to wear any rings. My doctor did blood tests (RA factor, sed rate,etc.) and all came back normal and not suggesting RA. He put me on Cymbalta thinking it was Fibromyalgia but that does not seem to help at all. My doctor does not see the need to send me to a rheumatologist, with my insurance i would need a referral. Do you have any suggestions on what I can ask my doctor to test next?

Health Consultation Description: I am a 32yr old man having pain on both knees since 8 months.The severity of pain varies, and it decreases on rest and usually increases more on standing position and on climbing stairs. During therapy it was discovered that my feet problems were coming from my spine. I have spondylolisthesis. I go through EXTREME bouts of fatigue. experience tremors, twitches and now my arms are feeling very heavy and my head drops easily. I can`t help but wonder if this is all connected. I`m currently taking 200 mg celebrex 2x a day and if I miss a dose, I`m in trouble. My doctor has me on this because he thinks it might be fibromyalgia but he can`t say for sure. Can fibromyalgia be this bad?

I have had RA for about 30 years - I was first diagnosed when I was 37. I have always had Rheumatoid nodules along with it. In the last new years I have been told that my bloodwork (over and over) shows that I have Lupus - Very elevated ANA, lupus rash that was biopsied, plural effusion, vasculitis with periphial neuropathy. I have found that well all have been on at least 2 different ones. They either stoped working, didn`t work at all or we had a bad reaction to them. It seem that if they work, they don`t work for a long time, maybe a couple of years. I know that for some people they work longer. Is this pattern typical in general?
