Dip a few cabbage leaves in boiling hot water to make them soft. As soon as they're cool enough, place one or two thickness on your forehead and on the back of your neck. Secure them in place with a scarf or bandage. Then relax as the cabbage draws out the pain. Boil two Spanish onions. Eat one and mash the other for a poultice. Then place the poultice on your forehead.

The crusts of lemon have also been found beneficial in the treatment of migraine. These crusts should be included into a fine paste in a mortar. The paste should be applied, it plaster on the forehead. It will provide great relief.

Anti-Migraine Massage
Apply pressure to the palm of one hand with the thumb of the other hand. Then reverse the order. If you feel a tenderness in either palm, concentrate the massage on that area. Keep up the firm pressure and massage for 10 minutes-five minutes on each hand. We heard about a woman who would eat a tablespoon of honey the second she felt a migraine coming on. If the headache wasn't gone within a half hour, she'd take another tablespoon of honey with three glasses of water and that would do it.

Niacin, when taken at the first sign of a migraine, has been known to prevent a full-blown, torturous headache. To prevent or get rid of a headache, take anywhere from 50 to 100 mg at a time. The higher the dosage, the stronger the side effects. For most people, the side effects are felt when they take 100 mg or more. Both of us get the "niacin flush" that makes us look like we've been in the sun too long. It's usually accompanied by itching and/or tingling. It lasts about 15 minutes and is not harmful.

Bathe your feet in a basin or two plastic shoe boxes filled with very strong, hot, black coffee. Some medical professionals recommend drinking a cup or two of coffee as well. Or, for the same effectiveness, but with less caffeine, drink yerba mate, also called Paraguay tea (available at health food stores).

Head to the Salon
Ready for this one? Sit under a hair dryer. The heat and high-pitched hum of the dryer may relax the tension that brought on the headache. According to one physician, the dryer brings relief to two-thirds of the migraine sufferers who try it. Your local beauty salon will probably be happy to accommodate you as long as you don't have a headache during their busy time.
