Location: According to the location of pain. For example, Quchi (LI 11), Waiguan (TE5) and Hegu (LI 4) are used for pain in the upper limbs.
Method of manipulation: The medium stimulation is applied and the needles are retained for 20 minutes.
At reflective areas:
Location: According to the location of pain, the areas corresponding to the location of pain in the dorsal reflective areas and ulnar or radial reverse dorsal reflective areas.
Method of manipulation: The needles are shallowly inserted and not retained after needling stimulation.
At special acupoints beside the second metacarpal bone:

Function: To tone qi and blood, expel wind and dampness pathogens, warm meridians, and stop pain.
Method of manipulation: A hot decoction of these herbs is used to steam and wash both hands for 30 minutes, twice a day.
