Copy by Zhao Mengfu of Zhongzang ding
Yuan dynasty
The Canon Kept in the Palace Repository (Zhong zang ring) is a small book mainly on manifestation type determination and prognosis. It is attributed to Hua Tuo (see Fig. 128), but was more likely written in the Northern Song period. The unknown author's rich experience and the book's attention to clinical matters made it quite popular. It was included in the Main Artery of the Orthodox Medical Tradition collection (see Fig. 303). Zhao Mengfu (or Zhao Ziang, 1251-1322) was one of the most famous painters and calligraphers of the Yuan Dynasty. (Collection of Shanghai Museum.)
