(1) Occipitomandibular traction:
Hold the head with occipitomandibular cloth band, raise the head of bed, tie a traction rope and weight, then traction is done through a pulley. Intermittent traction in setting position may also be applied, which is suited for injuries and diseases of cervical vertebrae without displacement that need only a short period of traction and fixation. The weight for traction is usually less than 5 kg.
(2) Suspension fixation with pelvic bag:
This is to do reduction and fixation by using a concentric pressure force. It is suitable for separation of symphysis pubis.
(3) Pelvic traction:
Taking cloth or leather as material to make a traction band, bind it up tightly to the waist and the pelvis, then tie traction ropes and weights to the two sides of the band to do traction through pulleys. The traction may be both continuous and intermittent, the weight on each side is 5 to 10 kg. It is suited for chronic pain in waist and legs, prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc, etc.
