1. Flexion.Wrenching Shoulder
The patient is in the sitting position. Standing in semi-squatposture by the latero-anterior side, the practitioner puts the patient’s stretched upper limb on his shoulder, and presses the patient’s shoulder with his crossed fingers, then stretches his lower limbs to raise the patient’s arm step by step to its elastic barrier position and nlakes a sudden and controlled wrenching to expand the flexion range 3 to 5 degrees and loosens at once. Repeat the movement 3 to 5 times (Fig 219). This manipulation is applicable to the treatment of flexion obstruction of the scapulohumeral periarthritis in the adhesion period. 2. Abduction-Wrenching Shoulder
The manipulating manner is very similar to the above. But the practitioner stands by the lateral side and wrenches the shoulder at abductive direction (Fig 220). This manipulation is applicable to the treatment of abductive obstruction of scapulohumeral periarthritis in the adhesion period.

3. Adduction-Wrenching Shoulder
The patient is in the sitting position with the hand of the suffered side being in front of the chest.Standimg behind the patient, the practitioner leans his chest against the patient’s back to stabilize the patient’S trunk, holds the patient’s wrist of the suffered side with his contralateral hand, stretches the heterolateral hand to hold the patient’s elbow with the a13n that is around the suffered shoulder, then uses the hand that holds the wrist to pull backward while the hand that holds the elbow to push medially to the adductive barrier position. With the two hands acting coordinately, the practitioner makes a sudden and controlled wrenching-thrusting to expand the adduction range 3 to 5 degrees. 100 sens the shoulder at once.Repeat this manipulation 3 to 5 times (Fig 221). This manipulation is applicable to the treatment of the adductive obstruction of the scapulohumeral periarthritis in the adhesion period. Click to read Myocardial Infarction in TCM.

4. Posterior Bending—Wrenching Shoulder
The patient is in the sitting position. The practitioner stands by his laterio—posterior side, presses the suffered shoulder to stabilize it with one hand, holds the wrist of the suffered side to make the upper limb in such a position in which the shoulder is extended and rotated, the elbow is flexed and the handback is kept close to the patient’s back with the other hand; then makes a sudden and controlled wrenching to move the patient’s hand upward for half width of a spinous process along the back, loosens immediately (Fig 222).Repeat this movement 3 to 5 times. This manipulation is applicable to the treatment of posterior bending obstruction of the scapulohumeral periarthritis in the adhesion period.

5. Rotating-Wrenching Shoulder
The patient is in the sitting position. The practitioner stands behind him with a foot stepping on the chair and the knee resisting against the patient’S armpit; presses on the suffered shoulder with one hand to stabilize the joint, holds the upper part of the forearm with the other hand and keeps the shoulder abducted to 90 degrees (The shoulder may be abducted to its barrier position if 90 degrees can’t be reached); then rotates the shoulder lateriorly to its barrier position, and makes a sudden and controlled wrenching to expand the range of the laterier rotation 3 to 5 degrees, and loosens it immediately (Fig 223); later, medially rotates the shoulder gradually to its barrier position and makes a sudden and controlled wrenching to expand the range of the medial rotation 3 to 5 degrees and 100sens it immediately. Repeat these movements 3 to 5 times. These manipulations are applicable to the treatment of the rotating obstruction of the scapulohumeral periarthritis in the adhesion period.
