1. Lifting-Trembling
This manipulation is a compound manipulation which combines grasping with vibrating. With the fingers open to form semiflexion condition, the manipulator holds the patient’s skin and muscles gently with the thumb, the index and middle fingers, then makes the wrist and the fingers tremble quickly. This manipulation can be done with the two hands alternately (Fig. 115). This manipulation has the functions of relaxing muscles, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, relieving pain,separating adhesion and so on.It is suitable for the neck and nape, limbs and abdominal regions.Click to read Chinese medicine Treatment for Chronic Gastritis.
2. Swinging
Based on the lifting-trembling manipulation, the so-called swinging requires the manipulator to increase the range of trembling but reduce the frequency(Fig 116). The manipulation is only applied on the abdomen. It has the actions of removing stagnant food, smoothing Qi, separating adhesion, and so is applicable to the treatment of children’s ascaris intestinal obtraction and intestinal adhesion, etc.
3. Concentrating-Vibrating
This manipulation is a compound manipulation which combines concentrating with vibrating. The two palms are put on the symmetric sides of the joint respectively, and then are vibrated up and down(or left and right)rapidly.
