Takayasu disease or Takayasu arteritis (pulseless disease) is a chronic inflammation of the aorta. The inflammation of the aorta and its branch arteries can lead to poor blood supply to tissues of the body in patients with Takayasu disease. patients may have decreased or absent radial pulses (pulse in the wrist) and pain, weakness, coldness in the arm and forearm. It is usually treated with herbs for activating qi and blood circulation, warming the meridians and removing the obstruction from the collaterals.
Treatment
Neiguan (PC6)
A 0.5 cun needle can be inserted perpendicularly into Neiguan (PC6). The needle handle is bended to 90 degree and fixed by adhesive tape on skin for 12 hours, which is repeated every other day.
