Acupuncture Point Wushu (GB27)
Location:
Lie on one`s side; in the depression on the madial side of anterosuperiorr iliac spine, about at the level of GuanyuanCV4(Guanyuan (CV4) Front-Mu Point of the SmallIntestine) 3 cun below the navel.
Function:
Regulating menstruation and leukorrhea, purging of the internal heat and regulating the functions of lower jiao.
Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-external oblique muscle of abdomen-external internal oblique mudcke of abdomen-transverae muscle of abdomen.
In the superficial layer, there are the lateral cutaneous branches of the anterior branches of the 11th and 12th thoracic and 1st lumbar nerves and accompanying arteries and veins. In the deep layer, there are the deep circumfiex iliac artery and vein, the muscular branches of the anteror branches of the 11th and 12th thoracic and 1st lumbar nerves.
Indications:
Leukorrhagia, lower abdominal pain, lumbar pain, hernia, and Constipation.
Prescription:
Combined use with TaichongLR3 (Taichong (LR 3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point) for treatment of orchitis; and with GuanyuanCV4 (CV4) and YinlingquanSP9 (Yinlingquan (SP9) He-Sea Point) for treatment of endometritis.
Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 0.5-1 cun depth; needling response: local numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 15 min.
Note:
Its related organs include the cecum, the ascending colon and the appendix on the right side and the descending colon and the sigmoid colon on the left side in the abdominal cavity.
