Acupuncture Point Henggu (KI11)
Location:
Supine position; firstly locate QuguCV2(Qugu (CV2)) ( on the upper border of pubic symphysis on linea alba), 0.5 cun lateral to QuguCV2(CV2).

Function:
Tonifying qi of the kidney, and regulating the lower-jiao.

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-anterior sheath of rectus muscle of abdomen-pyramidal muscle-rectus muscle of abdomen.
In the superficial layer, there are the anterior cutaneous branches of the iliohypogastric nerve and the tributaries of the superficial epigastric vein. In tne deep layer, there are the branches or tributaries of the inferior epigadtric artery and vein and the branches of the anterior branches of the 11th and 12nd thoracic nerves.

Indications:
Urethritis, pelvic inflammation, adnexitis, hernia, uroschesis, enuresis, spermatorrhea, sexual impotence, and sclerokeratitis.

Prescription:
Combined use with Sanyinjiao (SP6) for treatment of irregular menstruation; with Taichong (LR 3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point) for treatment of orchitis; and with DajuST27 (Daju (ST27)), Qimen (LR 14) Front-Mu Point of the Liver) for treatment of dysuria.

Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 1-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
Note:
Before puncture, the patient must have his bladder evacuated, or else, due to the apex of bladder being higher than the upper margin of pubic bone, the bladder is liable to be injured by deep puncture.
