Acupuncture Point Sizhukong (TE23)
Location:
Sit upright or lie prostrate on one's side; on the lateral border of zygomatic process of frontal bone, in the depression at the lateral end of the eyebrow.

Function:
Refreshing the mind, expelling the wind and relieving convulsions.

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-orbicular muscle of eye.
There are the supraorbital nerve, the zygomaticofacial nerve, the temporal and zygomatic branches of the facial nerve, and the frontal branches of the superficial temporal artery and vein in this area.

Indications:
Headache, dizziness, Conjunctivitis, electric ophthalmitis, optic atrophy, leucoma, facial paralysis, and infantile convulsions.

Prescription:
Combined use with CuanzhuBL2 (Cuanzhu (BL 2)) for treatment of conjunctivitis; and with QiuhouEXHN7 (EX-HN7) for treatment of optic neuritis, optic atrophy.

Methods:
Insert the needle obliquely or horizontally backward, 0.5-1 cun deep; needling response: local distension; moxibustion: mild moxibustion for 5-10 min.
