Acupuncture Point Qinglengyuan (TE11)
Location:
With arms akimbo, 2 cun posterior to and above the tip of elbow ( olecranon ), directly above TianjingTE10(Tianjing (TE10)).
Function:
Expelling wind and cold pathogens, and removing obstruction from the channels to relieve pain.
Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-brachial triceps muscle.
In the superficial layer, there is the posterior brachial cutaneous nerve. In the deep layer, there are the median collateral artery and vein and the muscular branches of the radial nerve.
Indications:
Headache, ophthalmalgia, and pain in the shoulder and arms.
Prescription:
Combined use with JianliaoTE14 (Jianliao (TE 14)) for treatment of periarthritis of shoulder; and with DazhuiGV14 (Acupuncture Single Point Dazhui (GV14)) for treatment of hepatitis.
Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 0.3-1 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
