1. Acupuncture and moxibustion do achieve good results in treating wind stroke. If the treatment is given earlier, the therapeutic results can be improved. Patients with sequelae of wind stroke usually recover faster, within the first six months. But even patients with lengthy illness can gain some therapeutic effect if they can keep up the treatment.
2. The patient who has hemiplegia should pay more attention to functional exercises of the limbs, maintaining pleasant emotions and regular bowel movements, all of which are favorable to recovery.
3. To the patient with hemiplegia as well as hypertension, attention should be paid to stabilizing the blood pressure. Treatment with Chinese and Western medication should be combined. When the blood pressure is too high, measures should be taken to prevent the aggravation of the disease and the relapse of wind stroke.
