Location: On the midline of the abdomen, 4 cun below the umbilicus and 1 cun above the superior border of the pubic symphysis.
Nature:
Front-Mu point of the Bladder.
Functions:
Assists the transforming functions of Qi, regulates the Uterus, alleviates Damp-Heat.
Primary Indications:
Menstrual disorders (irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhoea, amenorrhoea, excessive bleeding), Spermatorrhoea, urinary frequency, dysuria, retention of urine, uterine prolapse.
Tertiary Indications:
Enuresis, Impotence, hernia, vaginal discharge, uterine bleeding, post-partum lochia, female infertility, pain in external genitals, pruritus vulvae, lower abdominal pain/hot and cold sensations, Nephritis, oedema.
Other Indications:
Endometritis, salpingitis, pelveoperitonitis, peritonitis, uterine spasms, placenta does not descend, sciatica, lack of Yang energy, Yin energy assails the Heart, cadaveric syncope, aesthenia; general fatigue, emaciation with hunger but does not want to eat (in women), debauchery, Yin sweats/nocturnal and non salty, disorders due to sexual intercourse during menstruation, rectal prolapse.
