Precautions: Contraindicated point during pregnancy.
Location: On the midline of the abdomen, 1.5 cun below the umbilicus and 3.5 cun above the superior border of the pubic symphysis.
Functions:
Regulates the Qi functions, regulates the Qi circulation, strengthens deficient Kidneys, dispels Dampness, tonifies the body, prolongs life.
Primary Indications:
Uterine bleeding, vaginal discharge, menstrual disorders (Irregular menstruation, Dysmenorrhoea, uterine bleeding), enuresis.
Tertiary Indications:
Lower abdominal pain, Spermatorrhoea, hernia, diarrhoea/dysentry, uterine prolapse, female infertility, constipation, Edema, Neuraesthenia, heat-stroke, Lumbago, appendicitis, retracted penis and scrotum.
Intestinal paralysis, polyuria, urinary retention, male urinary problems, dark yellow urine, five sores of urethritis, nephritis, duodenal ulcer (remarkable effects), enterorrhagia, underdevelopment in children, metritis, intestinal disoders, vomitign all that one eats, coma, emptiness of the five Zang, lack of essential energy, all chronic disorders due to energy problems, Yin energy assailing the abdomen and heart, Yin symptoms with red face, problems due to blood clots, lack of Yang energy which manifests in icy sensation in four limbs/retracted scrotum and sudden heart pain, syncope because the lower energy cannot rise to the top of the body;the eyes are rolled upwards and perspiration is profuse (All these symptoms are accompanied by an ample pulse and are sometimes due to the patient after having been seriously ill and abandoing him/herself to excess - to debuachery. In such a case, moxibustion of Qihai revives the patient immediately), fear/insomnia, dyspnoea and pulmonary problems, sensation of "a piglet running around in the abdomen", abdomen suddenly distended wtih dyspnoea, hard lumps in the lower abdomen, sudden pain below the heart, problems occuring after coitus during menstruation, emaciation in women.
