Enteritis is the various acute or chronic inflammation of the intestine. Symptoms may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, abdominal distension and hematochezia. It is included in the diarrhea and dysentery in TCM. And treated with herbs for strengthening the spleen  and expelling the dampness to check diarrhea.

Treatment
1. Dachangshu (BL 25)
Dachangshu on both sides are perpendicularly inserted into and manipulated with thrusting and lifting method instead of rotating method till there is needling sensation transmiting down to the foot or to the lower abdomen. The needle is remained for 5-10 minutes.

2. Zhixie
Extra-point, 2.5 cun  inferior to the umbilicus.
2-4 ml of berberine injecta is injected into the point. 1-2 times a day for several days.
Shenque ( RN 8)
Moxibustion with large moxa cone is applied on the point at amount of 3-7 cones (or for 5-10 minutes), 2-3 times a day.

Note
Acute enteritis can be quickly cured by acupuncture on single point, while the chronic one is usually treated by a prescription based on syndrome diferentiation, which needs more sesions of treatment.
