1) Natural Oil Home Remedy for Dry Chapped Lips
Here’s a cheap dry chapped lip home remedy.  Rub your index finger on naturally oily parts of your body such as your nose, behind your ears and high on your forehead.  Then rub this oil on your lips.  Only a very slight coating makes a dramatic improvement.  It’s really amazing and it’s free.  It doesn’t work so well if you have just showered and soaped all the oil off your skin.

2) Bag Balm Dry Chapped Lips Home Remedy
I have a really good friend with a great home remedy for chapped lips.  At the dairy farm where she lives, they use bag balm on chapped cow’s udders.  She says this is the best there is for chapped lips.  Her lips are always normal. This is one of the best home remedies for dry chapped lips.

Put pure milk cream on your lips just before going to bed and let it sit on your lips for about 10 minutes.  Then you can lick it off or wash it off.  The effect will be soothing and it will stop the cracking in your lips.  Put a little turmeric in the cream and it will add a slight coloring to your lips.

A hot shower will steam your lips and make them soft and supple.  Then rub your lips with your finger to remove dead skin.  After the shower put on a lip salve of your choice.  My favorite is C. O. Bigelows Rose Salve.  It’s good for cuticles, dry skin and chapped lips.  This is my regular practice and my lips just don’t get chapped.

3) Honey as Dry Chapped Lips Home Remedy
Honey works best for me and it has been used for this and other things since ancient times.  It is a very good moisturizer for lips that are chapped.  Honey will keep indefinitely without spoiling.  Use raw honey not pasteurized honey as the latter has been heated and this destroys some of the important enzymes.  If your honey starts to crystallize, put it in a pan of water and heat the water over a long period of time to re-liquify the honey.  Put honey on your lips before you go to bed.
