Arrhythmia refers to any disturbance in the rhythm of the heartbeat, manifested clinically as pale complexion, lassitude, chest pain or oppression, palpitation, insomnia and excessive sweating. There may appear rapid, slow, rapid-irregular, slow-irregular and intermittent pulses in arrhythmia cases. In some mild cases, there may not be clinical symptoms; but in severe cases, symptoms such as dizziness, chest pain, shortness of breath, profuse sweating, cold limbs, even collapse may also be seen.
