Syndrome differentiation and treatment
1. Qi asthenia syndrome
Main symptoms: Postpartum incessant and profuse lochiorrhea with light color, thin texture and no odor, spiritual lassitude, weakness of the limbs, shortness of breath, no desire to speak, empty prolapsing sensation in the abdomen, bright white complexion, thin and white tongue fur, slow and weak pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Nourishing qi and checking blood.
2. Blood heat syndrome
Main symptoms: Postpartum incessant and profuse lochiorrhea with deep-red color, sticky texture and foul odor, dry mouth and throat, flushed cheeks, red tongue, scanty tongue fur, thin, rapid and weak pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Nourishing yin and clearing away heat, cooling blood and stopping bleeding.
3. Blood stasis syndrome
Main symptoms: Postpartum incessant scanty lochiorrhea with blackish color and blood clot, unpressable pain in the lower abdomen, alleviation of pain after removal of the clot, purplish and blackish tongue or with ecchymoses, taut and unsmooth pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Activating blood and resolving stasis, regulating blood and directing it to flow in the vessels.
