The most common feature of Churg Strauss Syndrome is asthma, also known as Allergic Granulomatosis. The disease is also known to show a type of tissue destroying inflammatory response called granuloma. Churg Strauss Syndrome is an autoimmune vasculitis, leading to necrosis, involving the blood vessels of the lungs, gastrointestinal system, peripheral nerves, heart, skin and kidneys.
The cause for the disease is not precisely known, but the belief is that it is due to an allergic reaction. It is an uncommon disease and can affect the males and females equally. It is not an age-based malaise, but is commonly diagnosed amongst the middle-aged people. People over the age of 65 are least likely to develop the disease. Though the disease is incurable, yet at times some alternative medications might make the remission of the disease possible.
