Essentials for diagnosis    
(1) The patient has the history of ingestion of uncooked or half-uncooked pork and beef.
(2) Taeniasis: There are white teniform segments of adults excreted in stool or spontaneously emerging out of the anus. The patient has abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, as well as nausea, vomiting and abnormal appetite.
Cysficercosis: The patient has the small tubercle in subcutaneous tissue, or recent seizures of epilepsy not caused by other factors, or visual disturbance, even blindness.

(3) Taeniasis: Eggs or segments of tapeworms are found in stool. Cysticercosis. The cysticercus tubercle is removed to search for cysticerci; cysticerci in cerebral tissue can be found by X-ray examination. CT scan shows the loci of cysticerci. Intracutaneous test with cysticercous injection, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, etc. may be used to help the diagnosis of cysticercosis in the suspected patients.
