Lumbago is a general term used to describe back pain occurring in the area between the bottom rib and the top of the legs. It can occur in people of any age but is most common in people whose work requires physical effort. If the pain of lumbago is sudden, it is likely caused by a herniated disc, strained muscles, facet joints, or spondylosis, a stress fracture that is common in athletes. A gradual onset is likely to be caused by long-term habits like poor posture while standing or working at a workstation that is not set up ergonomically.
Severe spinal disorders are not impossible: spinal stenosis and excessive curvature disorders like scoliosis, lordosis, and kyphosis cause low back pain as well. Integration of Chinese medicine and western medicine would be a very good choice for this disease. When treating lumbago, Chinese doctors will take everything into consideration, including the following conditons.
1. Condition where the length of the legs are not equal
2. Restricted movement of the hip
3. Abnormal structure of the feet
4. Fractures
5. Poor posture
6. Insufficient oxygen supply
7. Stress
8. Congenital abnormalities
