Treatment Based on Syndrome Differentiation:
1. Syndrome of Dampness and Heat Accumulation
Main Symptoms:It occurs frequently in spring and autumn, with sudden onset, fresh red skin rash, obvious blisters in the center, burning sensation and pruritus, accompanied by fever, sore throat, dry mouth, joint pain,dry stool, yellow urine, reddened tongue, white and greasy or yellow and greasy coating, wiry and slippery or rapid pulse.
Therapeutic Methods: Clear away heat, dissolve toxin, remove dampness and expel wind.

2. Syndrome of Obstruction of Collaterals by Cold and Dampness
Main Symptoms: It frequently occurs in winter, manifested by dark red or purple red skin rash, aggravated by cold, mixed pruritus and pain, accompanied bychills in the body, extremely cold sensation in the four limbs, abdominal pain, loose stool, profuse and clear urine, pale tongue, white or white and greasy coating, deep and thready or slow or soft pulse.
Therapeutic Methods: Warm meridians, disperse cold, dissipate stasis and remove dampness.

Other Therapies
1. Application of Wet Dressing
Use 10% Huangbai Water or grind Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei ), Huangqin ( Radix Scutellariae ), Huangbai ( Cortex Phellodendri) and Kushen (Radix Sophorae Flavescentis) in equal amount into coarse powder, and use it for external application, when it becomes cold after infused with boiling water, 1 - 2 times a day. It is suitable for those with effusion.

2. Smearing Method
Use "Jie Du Washing Water" externally, twice a day. It is suitable for those without ulceration.

3. Inspersion
Apply "Xi Lei Powder" or "Yang Yin Sheng Ji Powder" on the infected areas, after the mouth is rinsed with honeysuckle water. It is suitable for mucous affection.

Cautions: It is necessary to get rid of suspicious causative factor to control infection and to stop using suspicious allergic medication. In severe cases, it is necessary to use corticosteroid and offer supporting therapy. It is also necessary to nurse the oral membrane carefully.
