Treatment Based on Syndrome Differentiation:
Usually, skin superficial mycosis does not need to be treated with oral administration of the herbal medicine and mostly treated with the external therapies in accordance with different conditions.
1. Tinea Capitis
After the hair is cut off, it is advisable to wash and clean the scalp with 10% alum water or mugwort leaf decoction and then apply the ointment prepared with realgar 30 g, zinc oxide 30 g and vaseline 300 g, or "Chuanlianzi Soft Ointment" on the scalp, once a day, continuously for one month. Before application of the ointment, it is necessary to pull the sick hair off for enhancing the therapeutic effect.

2. Tinea Manuum and Tinea Pedis
For dense blisters, constant purulent fluid and pruritus due to the syndrome of accumulation of dampness and heat, it is advisable to decoct Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae), Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri), Kushen (Radix Sophorae Flavescentis ), raw Diyu ( Radix Sanguisorbae ) and Yejuhua (Flos Chrysanthemi Indici ) with water for wet dressing and "Huang Ling Pellet Oil" for external application first. After dried up, it is advisable to smear "Fu Fang Tujingpi Extract" externally for once or twice or three times a day.

3. Tinea Unguium
It is advisable to soak the nail in "Huo Huang Jing Ji". Before soaking the nail, it is advisable to slice the sick nail thin with a small knife, or soak the nail in hot water first to make the nail soft and then slice it thin. Afterwards, it is suggested to smash Baifengxianhua (flos Impatiens Balsaminae ) 30 g and Mingfan (Alumen ) 9 g to apply on the sick nail and band it with a piece of cloth, and change the medicine once a day.
