Symptoms of Diabetic nephropathy according to the theory of TCM:
1. Deficiency of Spleen and kiney due to Heat and Damp
Main symptoms: soreness and weakness of waist and knees, frequent urination at night, turbid urine, fatigue, dry mouth, dark or purple tongue, white yellow coating, deep pulse.
2. Deficiency of Kidney and Liver Yin
Main symptoms: waist and knee pain, dry mouth and throat, irritability, tinnitus, constipation, dry eyes, turbid urine, slight swelling, dark red tongue, thin and yellow coating, slip pulse.
3. Deficiency of Qi and Yin
Main symptoms: fatigue, spontaneous perspiration, night sweating, shortness of breath, backache, abdominal distension, loose stool, swelling, red tongue with less coating, thin pulse.
4. Deficiency of Spleen and kidney Yang
Main symptoms: face and body swellings, aversion to cold, fatigue, abdominal fullness and distention, loose stool, frequent urination at night, light and greasy tongue, weak pulse.
5. Deficiency of yin and Yang
Main symptoms: fatigue, loose stool, frequent urination at night, loose stool, swelling, tinnitus, vertigo, light tongue, deep and thin pulse.
