INGREDIENTS
Raw oyster shell, Concha Ostreae 20g
Rhizoma Anemarrhenae (Zhimu) 6g
Lotus seed, Semen Nelumbinis 30g
White sugar (a spoonful)
PROCESS: Decoct in earthenware pot the first two ingredients in 1000ml of cold water over slow fire for half an hour and sift the decoction from the dregs; wash the lotus seed clean and soak them in 300ml of hot water for an hour. Then pour the decoction and the lotus seed with the water into an aluminium pan and stew them on top of slow fire for an hour. Finally add the white sugar to them and stew them for another hour until the lotus seed is well-done.
DIRECTIONS: To be taken as snacks. This decoction is especially good for patients suffering from Seminal Emission manifested as nocturnal emission resulting from hyperactivity of fire due toyin deficiency complicated by mild hypertension.
