ORIGIN: The ripe fruit of various kinds of tangerines such as Citrus tangerina or C. erythrosa [Rutaccae].
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION: Containing hesperidin,malic acid, citric acid, glucose, fructose, sucrose, vitamin C and B1, carotene and Cryptoxanthin.
NATURE, FLAVOR AND CHANNEL TROPISM Sweet, sour in flavor and cool in nature, acting on the channels of the lung and stomach.
EFFICIENCIES AND INDICATIONS: Promoting the function of stomach and regulating the flow of qi, relieving thirst and moisturizing the lung. It is used to treat accumulation of qi in the chest and diaphragm, vomiting and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Peptic Ulcer, Chronic Gastritis, insufficiency of stomach-yin, dry mouth and thirst, cough due to retention of pathogenic heat in the lung and excessive drinking.
