INGREDIENTS
Goat (or sheep) liver 200g
Prepared rehmannia root, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata (Shudihuang) 10g
Chuanxiong rhizome, Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) 3g
Chinese angelica root, Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui) 6g
White peony root, Radix Paeoniae Alba 8g
Wolfberry fruit, Fructus Lycii 10g
Eclipta, Herba Ecliptae 6g
Parched wild jujube seed, Semen Ziziphi Spinosae 6g
Peper powder, Pulvis Fructus Piperis Albi 1g
Gourmet powder 2g
Soaked edible fungus, Auricularia 20g
Cooking wine 2g
Day lily, Flos Hemerocallis Immaturus 10g
Wet starch 20g
Chicken broth 400g
Refined salt 6g
Soy sauce 3g
PROCESS: Wash the above medicinal herbs clean and put them into an earthenware pot; add water to decoct them for decoction and let the decoction settle to remove the sedment Wash the goat liver clean, cut it into thin slices and put it into a bowl; add 2g of refined salt, soy sauce, cooking wine and wet starch and mix them thoroughly. Put the earthenware pot with the decoction in it over a strong fire, add chicken broth, edible fungus and day lily. When the decoction boils, take the edible fungus and day lily out and put them m a soup bowl. Spread the liver slices into the pot; skim off the froth when it boils again; put in salt, pepper powder, prepared lard and gourmet powder when the liver is done. Then, put it into the soup bowl for taking.
DIRECTIONS: It can be taken with bread (or cooked rice).
EFFICACY: Nourishing the liver, replenishing the blood, improving acuity of vision and tranquilizing the mind.
INDICATIONS: Night blindness, dim eyesight and Optic Atrophy caused by deficiency of the liver-blood, palpitation, Insomnia, forgetfulness and, in women, Irregular Menstruation, and other symptoms resulting from deficiency of the heart-blood.
