INGREDIENTS
Sheep (or goat) lung 1 set
Apricot kernel, Semen Armeniacae 9g
Persimmon frost, Mannosum Kaki 30g
Flour of mung bean, Pulvis Semen Phaseoli Radiati 30g
Butter, Butyrum 30g
Honey, Mel 60g
PROCESS: First, remove the husk of the apricot kernels, then grind them into fine powder; put it together with the persimmon frost, mung bean flour and butter into a bowl, and then, put the honey into the bowl; add a bit of water while stirring it until the above five ingredients are mixed thoroughly and become a thick-extract-like stuff; have the sheep lung washed clean, squeeze out the blood and water; fill the medicinal extract into the lung; put the lung in a container, add about 500 ml of water and stew it without its contacting water until it is done. Put the lung in a bowl and pour in the soup.
DIRECTIONS: Eat the lung and drink the soup with bread (or cooked rice).
EFFICACY: Replenishing yin, clearing away heat, tonifying qi and nourishing the blood, arresting cough and relieving Asthma.
INDICATIONS: Debility after a long illness, internal heat due to deficiency of yin, cough due to consumptive lung disease caused by impairment of the lung by fire of deficiency type, abnormality of the function of the lung in removing obstruction in the flow of qi and checking upward adverse flow of qi, manifested as spitting sticky and thick sputum full of white froth, listlessness, emaciation, palpitation, Asthma, dry mouth and lips.
