Gruel with Ginseng and Poria for the Spleen

INGREDIENTS
Ginseng, Radix Ginseng (Renshen)  3 to 5g (or 15 to 20g of dangshen)
Poria (Fuling)  15 to 20g
Fresh ginger, Rhizoma Zingiberis  3 to 5g
Polished round-grained rice, Semen Oryzae Sativae   60g

PROCESS: Have the ginseng (or dangshen) and fresh ginger cut into thin slices, poria pounded into pieces. After soaking them for half an hour, decoct them in water for 30 minutes. Take out the extract and go on decocting it to obtain extracte again. Put together the two extracts. Wash rice clean and put it into the extract to make gruel.

DIRECTIONS: Take such gruel once in the morning and once in the evening.

EFFICACY: Invigorating the middle-jiao and replenishing qi, strengthening the spleen and regulating the stomach.
