INGREDIENTS
Desertliving cistanche, Herba Cistanchis (Roucongrong) 10 to 15g
Chosen mutton 60g
Polished round-grained rice, Semen Oryzae Sativae 60g
Refined salt, Sal Communis a bit
Scallion stalks, Bulbus Allii Fistulosi (cut into slices) 2
Fresh ginger, Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens 3 slices
PROCESS: Have desertliving cistanche and chosen mutton washed clean and cut into slices; first, decoct the desertliving cistanche in an earthenware pot to obtain extract and remove the dregs; then, put in the mutton and the rice; add salt, scallion stalks and fresh ginger into the pot to make thin gruel.
DIRECTIONS: Take such gruel once in the morning and once in the evening.
EFFICACY: Replenishing the kidney, invigorating yang, improving the function of the spleen, tonifying the stomach and loosening the bowel to relieve constipation.
INDICATIONS: Insufficiency of the kidney-yang, manifested as Impotence, Nocturnal Emission, Premature Ejaculation, Secondary Infertility in women, cold-pain in the loins and knees, frequent micturition, polyuria at night, general debility, internal injury due to overstrain, chills and intolerance of cold, cold limbs, cold of deficiency type in the spleen and stomach, and Constipation due to insufficiency of yang in the aged.
PRECAUTIONS: Gruel with desertliving cistanche and mutton is warm-natured medicated gruel, fit to be taken in winter; take it for 5 to 7 days as a course of treatment; those who suffer from loose stool, sexual hyperesthesia, should not take it; it is not fit to be taken in summer.
